Oh so true. I got a kick out of that one too. Reminds me of the Board and the project I'm currently working on.
"Can we change functionality X to show Y by default instead of Z?"
Well, that should be easy, it already does Y, it just defaults to Z. However, I learned from working with the Board that the correct answer to such questions ia always: "Let me check into that." And more often than not, it turns out that because of some inhumane piece of code it is prohibitively difficult to make the default behavior Y.
