Vaccinations :(

Kessa had her 2-month checkup today. I'll post her stats later. (No, she's not quite 2 months yet. But she's almost 8 weeks.) As part of her check-up, she got her vaccinations. He told me a list of possible side-effects and how to help them. Nothing he mentioned have come to light. Instead, she is screaming like a banshee. High pitched shrieking. She'll be sound asleep and shriek in her sleep. It sounds like she's in dire pain or something. Luckily, Aunt Jessa chose today to come down and help, so she's been holding her. She's also found that if she puts her hand on her ear, it often calms her down, though we're not sure if that was coincidental, because shhh-ing also has helped her calm down. I'm sure this has something to do with the vaccinations. She's never cried like this before. I suppose the timing could be coincidental. But it's the only thing I've got to blame it on. I can't blame it on being tired or hungry, cuz she screamed in her sleep just after nursing. [sigh]

Screams like this break Mommy's heart.

That is so cute in such a sad way! Sean was a sleep screecher and whiner. Like a puppy. Make sure you move her legs a lot so she gets a lot of circulation and less soreness.

I found some new, amazing diapers. They're more expensive but oh so amazing:

They're trimmer, easier to change, you need less of them (at least when they're older), and the nasty poo comes right off. Much easier than BumGenius.

If i could be in love with a cloth diaper, it would be with this one.

Does she have an ear infection?

I know, I bawled with Megan at her 2 month shots, too. She's gotten better about them, though. I'll pray for you and Kessa... shots are tough.

We never had any problems with shots until the one year mark, or maybe the 18 month shots? I can't really remember. She had an awful reaction that was less likely to happen, but did for us. I felt so bad...

Just think if you get them done on time you'll be done by her 18 month mark. :)

Hang in there.... It'll be ok. :) *hugs*

Our doctor told us that one of the side effects could be crying for like 4 hours at a time, so thats what I thought of when i read that. So sad though. Good luck, I hope she feels better.
